... and i feel that the time is here for me to comment on the debate currently raging about singapore.
are shorts and slippers appropriate?
are singaporeans too casual?

(note: here by slippers i mean flip flops and their ilk. yes, those hideous and trend-whorish havianas count too. as do birkenstock types. i swear i fucking hate those.)

personally, i don't see a problem with the IDEA of dressing casually.
i mean...
there isn't really a reason to dress up for me, and im sure that goes for most people.
im a student without much of a social life...
don't go out too much.
dont have occasions requiring me to actually dress up.
i know, i know.
i actually look better dressed up (or so i hear.)
every1 tells me that.

but going out in shorts and slippers is a whole new hog.
i wouldnt be seen more than 15 minutes travel away from my house in that kinda crap.

anyway,
i personally think its a matter of aesthetics.
that shorts and slippers thing is associated with slovenliness.
for me its not a matter of respect, a concept i hardly seem to understand.
but i just dont think that it looks nice.
it looks like you just woke up and are picking up breakfast.

or maybe thats the whole point.
i just dont really understand young people nowadays.
any1 can lemme a time machine so i can go home?

Ghost Opera- Kamelot.

Welcome all to curtain call
At the opera
Raging voices in my mind
Rise above the orchestra
Like a crescendo of gratitude
