Manchester United won the Champions League 2008, defeating Chelsea in the final at Moscow's Luzhniki Stadium on Wednesday night.

The game was decided via a penalty shootout, which United won 6-5.

The teams were 1-1 at the end of the second half, and the deadlock could not be broken in 30 minutes of extra time.

Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard scored in the final minute of the first half.

It was after United went ahead with Cristiano Ronaldo's header in the 26th minute.

This is United's third win in the elite club competition. They had won it in 1968 and 1999. They dashed Chelsea's hopes to win it for the first time.

it was an amazing match, tbh.

chelsea started slow.

(at 1 time the posession was 65-35 in favour of man u)

when ronaldo headed in the first goal i was hoping to stay there tight at 1-0 till full time.

unfortunately lampard equalised right before the break.

demoralising.

then 2nd half was very attacking.

chelsea hit the posts twice i believe.

interesting thing is chelsea made lotsa shots...

seriously i think drogba lost the title by slapping vidic.

if he were to take the shootout instead of "the incredible sulk" anelka

they would've had a chance.

i was sharing a table with 2 chelSKI fans.

fairweather fans, no doubt.
