you know what?
i think its time i explained exactly my political beliefs.
its a system called libertarian anarchism.
first of all, anarchy is not synonymous with chaos and disorder, though abuse of privileges granted under an anarchist system could eventually lead to that.
libertarianism is the belief that every1 has the right to do and live however they want, so long as it does not infringe on the rights of other.
thus, people can kill themselves with drugs and such, so long as they do not promote this lifestyle to others.
they can do whatever they want, but its their own business and they shouldnt impose their views on others.
anarchism is the operationalisation of this ideal into a system that CAN be implemented.
simply put, there are no laws.
people live in self-governing communities and police each other's behaviour.
there are rules of course.
decided upon by the people within each community.
by vote, of course.
so if people vote to legalise drugs, so be it.
you dont like it, dont take drugs.
simple.
of course, an explanation of this is also incomplete without mentioning the DIY ethic.
its basically doing things yourself instead of taking the easy way out and paying to get it done.
you can view it as a rejection of over reliance on the capitalist system.
put it this way.
if you know how to cook, why should you tar pau food?
my dream is to 1 day transform these views into implementation.
no, its not a pipe dream to see this realised in singapore.
this system HAS been successfully implemented elsewhere.
Freetown Christiania
this is actually near a model commune, i'd say.
of course, there is no such thing as perfection.
the nearest thing that'd come to it is the swiss government.
frequent referendums mean that the government is truly "of the people"
1 day i hope to see this in singapore, because i love my country and want to see it better (in my view)
1 day. pipe dream i suppose.
that's youth- anti flag.
When all you hear is that, "you cant " or "give up" or "you're a fool"
and you're so sick of all the in crowd and trying to be cool
And you still dont, still you dont. still you dont know what to do...
But in the end you do your own thing, and you tell'em to get screwed!!!
