well...
im supposed to list out a few of my fave songs.
i rmb saying i would.
a long time back.
so in no particular order...

1) Fade To Black, By Metallica

From the second non-demo album, Ride The Lightning, Fade To Black was written after almost ALL of Metallica's equipment was stolen during a performance.
hence, the song was written using equipment borrowed from fellow Thrash metal band Anthrax.
Lyrically, the song is about suicide.
its about someone who has lost sense of why he is living.
he only feels the emotion welling up from within.
after losing something, things have changed for him.
the only one who can stop him from killing imself is he himself.
but things have gone too far.
its too late for him.

2) Nothing Else Matters, By Metallica

From the wildly popular self-titled album, also referred to as the Black Album for its nearly all-black cover, Nothing else matters was originally written by James Hetfield about a girl.
very un-metal.
this was the first true ballad by Metallica.
now, Metallica considers it to be a song for the fans.
nothing else matters besides them.
personally, i find the song very meaningful.
sometimes to me it can mean...
nothing else matters.
nothing matters in life.
it shows me the futility of existence.
other times.
it means other things.

3) The Hell Song, Sum 41

ahh... at last its not a Metallica song...
anyway...
i love this song...
its pop-punk.
so?
its still a great song.
i love the lyrics.
they just speak to me.
it fits my mood almost all the time.
if i feel like crying, it suits my mood.
if im happy, it fits my mood.
i just love this song.

4) Till' I Collapse, Eminem Ft. Nate Dogg

this is my personal "fight song"
its very motivational.
it tells em not to take out all my frustrations on myself.
and instead to chain them out and hit them back out at the world.
i especially like the freestyle version by 50 cent.

5) Sweet Child O' Mine, Guns And Roses

i love this song.
the guitar intro is legend.
was made as a joke.
but its 1 of the most recognisable intros ever.
listen to the live versions. just feel the energy.
hear the crowd roar when the song starts.
i like the lyrics too...
they're about a girl.
they speak of love et al....

6) Wait And Bleed, Slipknot.

i love the chorus to this song.
i love the lyrics.
inside my shell i wait and bleed.
and i love the energy the verses are just SCREAMED.
this song just comforts me.
it makes me just wanna slam my head repeatedly into the nearest convenient hard surfacce until im reduced to a bleeding mess.
which im really tempted to do now.

7) Crazy Train, Ozzy Osbourne

i love this song.
it was included in the soundtrack of the Ghost Rider movie.
the part where johnny blaze jumps the helicopters.
lyrically, this song talks about insanity.
(im going off the trains on a crazy train)
also, 1 line criticises organised religion
(i listen to preachers. i listen to fools.)
i love the guitar solo in this song.
and the intro is one of the most recognizable, due to the high pitched screams of ozzy...

8) Ace Of Spades, Motörhead

i love the hammering guitar intro.
it literally bores into your skull.
it drives into ur skull.
and the lyrics...
they speak of knavery.
its just me.
a sly knave.
a rigue.
an ace of spades.

9) God Save The Queen, The Sex Pistols

i love the way Johnny Rotten just SNEERS the lyrics.
he's so disdainful that you cant help but agree.
even though the song is of a different time and location, the sentiment is universal.
you can kill the protestor. but you can never can kill the protest.

10) Drop, Timberland & Magoo ft. Fat Man Scoop

i know this song isnt a very gd 1 technically.
but this just reminds me of the first time we bboyed.
yuxuan...
rmb the 1st time at nic's house?

so this wraps it up.
thats it.
10 great songs.
a slice of my life.
